I'm a sucker for junkyard shots. Just have to block out the thought that none of these cars exist anymore. Here are some more shots from Ep 2.09. Look at the poor Karmann Ghia on top of the 7-Up Trailer. |

@night cub: a big for these pics - I love them, too. And especially that ones, as here, "Foreign Auto Wrecker" in the USA (as to read on the bus on the 2nd thumbnail. On pics like that, we had found here really hyperrare goodies! At least all older junkyard-pics (pre-80ies I would say) from all countries are very interesting. |

Season 3 complete. This was the season that haad the opening credits begin with a Porsche 928, a Mercedes wagon, and a Rolls Royce in a driveway. According to Wikipedia, it is a shot from the series Hart to Hart. |

Now that Season 3 is complete, I'll look to see what can be combined. |

I remember a Volkswagen Thing in one episode, and I used to have it listed because I tried to submit it to a Volkswagens on Film-type site. |

I'm half-way through the 4th season and I haven't come across it yet. |
◊ 2011-07-19 01:52 |
Yes, but the sad thing is I can't remember what episode that was in and I can't remember where I wrote it down. I know that it was white and driven by a dope dealer, though. |

Season 4 complete. I was very disappointed by the video quality on the DVD for season 4. Seasons 1-3 had previously been released on DVD, and look like they used proper sourcing. Season 4 looks like it was transferred from old video tapes. Caps were not clear, and had picture bleeding on the side of the frames. I think seasons 5-7 will be similar. |

Season 5 is complete, picture quality was much better than Season 4, so I guess the distributor found the masters for this season. |

are they somewhere available cos no Region 2 DVD ? |
◊ 2012-09-02 20:32 |
Mill Creek Entertainment bought most of Steven J Cannell's series and released a set of the entire series in 2010. It's Region 1 only. The first 3 Seasons had been released previously, bu Amazon is showing that they were also Region 1. |

sucks BTW how is this show compared to other 80s ones cos I didn't catch it really ? for example how is it to other cop show like TJ Hooker , more serios/comedic, more/less action better/worse writing ? -- Last edit: 2012-09-02 21:01:07 |

It's a show that changed from a light-hearted, comedic action show to a much serious cop show over the entire run. The first two seasons had Hunter as a bad-ass, havoc-prone cop, who wasn't respected in the precinct. Almost every episode had at least one car chase scene, and lots of stunts. By Season 3, the show started to become a serious cop show about a pair of veteran Homicide cops. With each season, there were less chases, and more crime-solving. It actually was a well-written show with decent acting. Dryer morphed into a more serious Hunter, and it worked well. With Stepfanie Kramer leaving at the end of Season 6, the show tried to reinvent itself for Season 7, but Dryer had little chemistry with new partner, Darlanne Fluegel, and the show suffered and was ultimately cancelled. So it ended up being a little of everything. -- Last edit: 2012-09-02 23:08:23 (G-MANN) |

the only scene cut from the series is Chaka Khan performing - So Close in episode 3.10 german DVDs have this scene intact and all the original pop music specially in S1 and S2 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zrKC1fK1zVI -- Last edit: 2017-05-11 23:10:53 |

to give you a preview here is one of the best episodes of S1 and the whole series actually The Beach Boy https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ULwxOBw6IOY&t=1633s from the german DVD notice how much main stream music it originally had like The Rolling Stones at 26.30 or Bad The the Bond at 1.00 S1 and S2 of Hunter is IMO like The A-Team would have been without the PG rating -- Last edit: 2017-05-11 23:26:05 |

which is unfortunate as it's the last watchable season Season 5 had just a single short car chase in Ep 5.09 and some very brief minor car action in other episodes but that's it -- Last edit: 2021-09-22 00:30:26 |

From the perspective of a a car stunt enthusiast, I gotta say it was a bit weird that season 6 had practically no crashes in it. Ep. 6.20 has McCall doing a small jump in the Monaco, and ep. 6.22 has a Dodge van lightly crashing into a wrecked boat... I haven't seen anything else in season 6. It's kinda jarring. Even season 7 had some impressive crashes. -- Last edit: 2024-07-29 21:26:53 |

As the show progressed, they changed the format. The first season and half of the second season, the show was more light in tone. Hunter was the department screw-up renegade, who was uncontrollable, and the only person who would work with him was McCall. As the show progressed, they tone got more serious, and Hunter was the star detective of the squad. Season 5 brought in a new Showrunner EP, who further changed the tone, making the show darker. Watch a Season 1 Ep and then a Season 6 Ep and you would think they were two different shows. |

I know that. But still, it didn't stop season 5 itself, and like I said, even season 7 from having at least some good wrecks. One of my favorite crashes is from one of the last season 5 episodes: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OT2CMkD5XM8 Maybe there was also a drop in the budget? I know Stephen Cannell's shows had cut down on the car stunts around that era. -- Last edit: 2024-07-29 21:28:22 |
