Poor Hunter, he always got stuck with the worst cars ever at first! Eventually he got his "signature/trademark" car, a dark green 1977 Dodge Monaco. But, at first all he could get the captains to let him use was the "crappers." However, in reality even back in 1984 or so, there's no way they would have made him use a car on a regular basis, that was in this bad of shape. If he was working Vice for a day maybe??? -- Last edit: 2009-11-25 05:28:25 |

Makes it's first appearance in episode 1.03. It's used in 2 more episodes in Season 1. They used at least two different cars, because the front of one looks like a 1969 model. Ep 1.09: -- Last edit: 2010-04-20 22:57:13 |

Actually, the next to the last thumbnail is a '68 or '69. The last thumbnail is a '72, which would match with the main photo which is either a '71 or '72 per grille and amber parking lamp lenses. |

Again, there were several early 1970's Chevrolet Impalas and Novas used as Hunter's "junkers" at first. As seen in the clips above, one Nova has a different colored tan or white front fender on the driver's side...and in other clips not. Like the old Impalas, I think there were at least 3 different Novas used during first season. It wasn't until late 3rd season or 4th season that Hunter finally got his trademark or "signature" car--the dark green 1977 Dodge Monaco. |

The main picture should be listed as 1969 Chevrolet Nova. |

For that matter, chrome window frames and body side moldings were options on Novas of this generation so you'd wonder why a two-door pre-gas-crisis compact with some trim options was in the police fleet in the first place let alone still in it in 1984... |

I believe somewhere in the show they explain that many of the cars he was given or not from the normal motor pool but were in fact forfeited cars pulled from the impound lot. |
