"Junkyard Galore:" The well visible station wagon in the center is a 1960 Pontiac Bonneville Safari, and there's a non-wagon 1960 Pontiac to its left under a 1963 Chevrolet Biscayne or Bel Air. To the wagon's right is a 1960 Ford Falcon with a 1960 Chevrolet beneath it, and a couple cars up looks like a 1965 Chevrolet Impala. To the right of the Falcon is a 1955 Buick on top of a 1958-1959 Ford Thunderbird; the car on top of the '55 Buick looks familiar but I don't know what (1961 Buick, maybe?). Up towards the top there's a Valiant and a Corvair. |

Would it work for you if all bar the key comments were archived so that people could view the comments if they wanted without it making the page too heavy? |
◊ 2013-04-17 20:18 |
I am thinking of archiving these first two season comments that now I have done with them? How would this work? |
◊ 2013-04-17 20:48 |
By me doing it: /yourcomments.php?archiveformovie=68067 I left the Season 1 titles post up as we have many pages where people post the opening titles, and I think it is quite good to do that. Page loads very quickly for me now, I also deleted some comments (discussions about cars that ended up getting added like the Mehari, a few posts about Photobucket thumbnail issues) and maybe a few of those I archived should be deleted (perhaps only the images and comments about them, should be left). I don't know how you want to handle things like links to IMPDb or gallery of lights, maybe insert all the links to them in one post (like the one with the S1 titles) so that people who are interested can see the links and navigate to them more easily. |
◊ 2013-04-17 20:55 |
Thanks If there is only one picture for Gallery of Lights, I would post a thumbnail otherwise I'll link the album. As for the impdb.org and the others, I don't have the account, but someone who monitors them can do what they want to do with it |

I have to agree with Mike, there are 46 entries for Crown Fire Coaches, most are two-stars so ones with the same years should be combined. Need to ID the years for most of them. This whole page is a little crazy. |

It would be nice if we can rearrange this mess after I finished this series first I haven't gone through the remaining episodes which mike962 desperately wants to capture and release all these episodes in record time There are some episode title/episode listing that has been mixed up between the DVD release and IMDb listing. So, I am following on IMDb listing in order. I don't know if the next version at IMCDb will have the feature to break down to each season or even each episodes |

And how is this Crown Firecoach different than the other 50 Firecoach's? /vehicle_1099372-Crown-Firecoach.html Perhaps it can be placed under one of those instead? |
◊ 2018-01-01 23:40 |
There are several different Crown Firecoach with different type of configuration and I'm not sure if they are the same with other alias listed here. For this example here; Engine 36 are listed but with different configuration /vehicle.php?id=617133 /vehicle.php?id=548395 Both have different horn on the lower left corner and lighting configuration by these door mounted mirror. |

Missing the point. It's not offensive, it's clutter. For large series like this (and I know because I've worked on many), like vehicles should be grouped together, especially one and two-star vehicles. If there are legitimate difference between each Firecoach (like for instance, the two mentioned above have different turn signals which probably indicate different years) then we can justify having different entries. But adding a 51st Firecoach (a background vehicle none the less) detracts from the entire program. |

I'm sorry, night cub I have a problem trying to deal with both possibility of real fire truck number or re-labeled fire truck number. all rigs besides the ward lafrance engine 51 and squad 51 were real units used by LACo.FD and likely reserve apparatus or fleet service spares or from slow stations as far as i know real LACo.FD fireman were background firemen with the exception of the guys in a season 6 episode titled the steel inferno, usualy you can tell by how long their hair is LACo.FD had a hair policy wich was against long hair johnny and roy as well as some other characters on special episodes had longer hair likely they are actors and not real LACo.FD, back to the topic of vehicles the show went through 3 dodge d300s 2 are lost in time and the 1 remains at the LA county fire museum, IRL LACo.FD engine 60 was the crown firecoach used for old engine 51 and from what ive read that engine was tottaled in a traffic accident. the new engine 51 was one of 11 or so i belive purchased by the county to replace the outdated firecoaches and tho company ward lafrance donated one to the show we know as the popular 1963 i belive engine 51, and was drove by irl LACo.FD engineer Mike Stoker. both the firecoach and the ward lafrance had irl service, the ward lafrance was donated to a department in yosemite and the squad was donated to LACo.FD and used as a fleet services vehicle. i have no knowledge over what was done with the ambulances or the old dennis fire engine, but i do know one of the ambulances is at the museum with the engines and squad. in some background shots you can see truck and engine 127 near station 51 since it was actually station 127 in Carson CA. i am a huge fan of the firecoach line of apparatus and hope to maybe own one one day sadly the company primarily made busses and ceased operations of production of fire apparatus in the 80s or 90s. the firecoach can be seen in many other shows like hawiai 5 o, adam 12, and other shows as a background or minor action vehicle. i do know when the pilot episode was filmed engine 10 and 210 (irl engines 8 and 2-8) were not twins one was a seagrave and the other a crown fire coach, one having a federal sign and signal co. "beacon ray" and another using a famous mars light still used as front facing lighting on many modern aparatus today in a different housing (my departments new ferarra / spartan rescue and engine both have 1 on each side under the mirror). if anyone could let me know if any apparatus had rotorays that would be helpful. (admins i know this comment is a bit of a rant my appologies if it is not acceptable, and if anyone could verify my information on these apparatus that would be helpful) |
