Wow, 8 grabs for a show that's been going 50+ years... you Brits are very very lazy! -- Last edit: 2013-12-15 16:44:09 |

English, not Brits please. Nobody in Scotland with any integrity would ever watch an English soap. |

You are missing my point... regardless of what country this is made in, how come it has so few grabs? -- Last edit: 2013-12-18 04:23:37 |

Because it's mostly made in a studio. Most of the scenes are interiors and even some of the outside shots are made on the Granada lot. Also, it's a soap, theoretically about people in a very confined space, so cars are mostly unnecessary and hence so are grabs of them. That said, I can remember a Morris Eight Series E from Corrie's black & white days ... |

1939 Tourer, belonging to Harry Hewitt (Ivan Beavis), husband (eventually) of Concepta (Doreen Keogh), father to Lucille, and drinking pal of Len Floorcloth. Where is a screengrab of Fred's Rover sinking in the lake? Weird how the brain works, I can't remember where I've put the car keys, but I can remember that stuff. -- Last edit: 2013-12-18 12:53:50 |

A few days ago I watched a few episodes just to satisfy my curiosity and I saw quite a few cars despite it being an obvious studio lot. In one scene there was a Ford Focus sedan taxi, and in the background was a Mazda 626 hatchback clearly visible. In another scene some guys were loading goods into an older Ford pickup truck (Ranger or whatever it was called in the UK). So don't give up on this show I would do it myself except I don't have access to free-to-air British TV (I think it's on pay TV here in Australia, but there's no way to transfer it digitally to a PC to get captures). EDIT: as of late 2017 I have added over 70 HD grabs for this show. There are more vehicles in this show than I first thought. However, unlike other soaps such as H&A, Neighbours, and Shortland Street, where I'm very thorough, I will only add vehicles for this show when it suits me, and some episodes might be skipped. Other posters are free to add grabs as well. -- Last edit: 2019-04-07 18:39:03 |

I wouldn't bother, most of the cars that appear fall right into the grey porridge variety, like most of the plots. |
◊ 2014-03-28 22:03 |
Great that someone has finally started adding pics for this show. About time after 54 years! EDIT: as of late 2017 I have added over 70 HD grabs for this show (up to 136 now as of October 2018). There are more vehicles in this show than I first thought. However, unlike other soaps such as Home and Away and Neighbours, where I'm very thorough, I will only add vehicles for this show when it suits me, and some episodes might be skipped. Other posters are free to add grabs as well. -- Last edit: 2018-10-18 08:13:53 |

Are these really ** ? /vehicle_696464.html /vehicle_696470.html /vehicle_696463.html @autocarguy88 Are you in America watching Coronation Street? As all the everyday cars are "unknown"... |
◊ 2014-04-19 02:54 |
i am very sorry because i don't live Europe because i don't know all the makes in European car brands. If helps next time i will do more research into these European car brands and look up Wikipedia and other sites to find out more info. So yeah i am very very sorry that i don't know my European cars i will do more research and also very sorry chicomarx i will do more research. -- Last edit: 2014-04-19 02:56:08 |

It's just a little odd that you're watching an old British soap, the unknowns aren't really a problem. Episode 2531 would be 7/3/1985 ? I would certainly limit it to cars that have a role. Or if you're just watching for the cars there may be more worthwhile projects. |
◊ 2014-04-19 04:26 |
so for coronation street whole car aspect do you think i should stop or continue or should i just focus on cars that have more of role just asking. -- Last edit: 2014-04-19 04:29:25 |

How much more is there? How many episodes still to do from your sources? |
◊ 2014-04-19 05:18 |
@autocarguy88 I'm saying what you have is scattered episodes with thousands missing. The ep. count is 8343. The page looks alright as validators have made a selection, but there are still things like... /vehicle_690994-Vauxhall-Astra-1992.html /vehicle_695868-Volkswagen-Golf-Typ-19E.html /vehicle_687074-Ford-Sierra-1986.html /vehicle_692395-Fiat-Punto-1994.html ... those are all unnecessary. I'm not saying stop with the show if that's what you want to do. |
◊ 2014-04-19 13:12 |
as chico's comment, I'd say carry on if you're enjoying it. You're finding a nice selection of ordinary stuff which is probably a good sample of what was actually on the streets at the time, rather than selected by film makers. And that shows some of the unusual or forgotten sub-versions which we don't often get highlighted, so I'm enjoying what comes up. So for reference material, it's got some very useful stuff scattered through it. But bear in mind that because so many of the entries are inevitably 1* and unexceptional, validators will probably reject a high proportion of entries. If you're happy to accept that - excellent. If you don't know UK/European cars very well (as you say on a comment somewhere), keep posting and let the rest of us sort out what to keep or discard, although perhaps use your judgement whether a car has enough detail visibility to be properly identifiable, rather than trying to post everything. Finally, because all these soaps (Coronation St, Eastenders etc) are to me total rubbish which I can't stand watching, I salute your dedication for the cause. |

I'm thinking it's a shot of the actor arriving at the set in his own car? If I remember well from something I read, he's a bit of a car fan. |

@Sandie, i've found this image of an LDV Maxus police van in the Coronation Street set (Possibly appeared in a episode), can you think of a Coronation Street episode were the LDV Maxus police van appeared? I don't know the episode but that's a 2006 LDV Maxus 2.8 CDI 95 SWB /vehicle_479410-LDV-Maxus-2006.html /vehicle_532749-LDV-Maxus-2006.html /vehicle_765878-LDV-Maxus-2006.html /vehicle_585667-LDV-Maxus-2006.html |

Looking at other entries for that van it could be 2012 episode |
◊ 2021-06-28 00:49 |
Similar to the old format of Top Gear, a lot of the episodes are unlisted, as this was made in 1960. |

I don't think so. If there'd been a better view I might have tried to pin down the Dolomite in 1st thumb (without a D on C-pillar), there's a silver Beta S2 in 3rd thumb, and a nice Avenger Super, maybe 73 for colour. But I think mentions are enough. |
