First part of my message was about Mazda dealer, where there are lots of cars but we do not see much of them (too fast, blurred, only roofs, ...)

Second part was about a non-planned crash in the Cadillac dealer, as related on IMDB's trivia page, and I was suggesting that it could be the crash as shown on the picture.

This web site missed a car. In the scence where the mustang is blocked and stopped by police in the park. Just as the mustang leaves the park, it barely misses a green AMC AMX parked on the street. The camera gets a full shot of the AMX as the mustang leaves the park.

The yellow mustang (Elenor) is a 1971 Mustang fastback playing the part of a 1973 Mustang Mach 1, so technically it's both.

And there's the Cadillac that spins "elenor" into the telephone pole as well. (that was actually a stunt gone bad, but Halicki liked it and kept it in the movie. Also, Halicki compressed his spine in the big jump and ended up preforming the jump twice. The first one the mustang's gas pedal jammed when it landed and the car went into a donut. They left both jumps in the movie. He walked with a limp for rest of his (r.i.p.) life 'cause of that jump.

for a lot of the scenes where the camera view is several feet in front of the mustang (and other cars) during the driving on road scenes the car they used to film from was a red 1971 chevy el camino!!!

I see a comment re the R-R Silver Ghost where the relative of the owner reckons it is 1919. That would make it an English-built one. It certainly looks later to me, although it may have been updated a bit. From this angle it is hard to tell whether the lights are American.

All the cars used in the movie were his personal cars from his collection, except for the Cadillac in the opening scene. It belonged to a friend of his and according to the story the engine had a few rattles when he returned it.

The only cars which belonged to Halicki in this film are the ones which get wrecked, with the exception of a couple of the Eldorados damaged at the Moran Cadillac dealership (they were real sale vehicles which he had to purchase afterwards). All of the stolen vehicles (apart from the Mustang and burgundy Rolls, and maybe one other) were owned by other people who loaned them for filming. Halicki however would purchase many of the same vehicles for his own collection after the success of this film.

I can't believe that the budget of the movie is only 150 000 $. The budget of Duel (1971) is bigger (450 000 $) and the people say that its really small (sorry for the bad English).

I'm looking into the list of stolen cars as previously posted and am trying to fix it up, there seems to be a few minor errors in it (with years and numbers, etc.) - early investigations seem to indicate there are a couple more cars featured in the film than the 48 listed.

Perhaps automatically by my computer, certainly not intentionally. This is a deleted scene off the DVD release, the footage of which was in poor condition... that may have contributed to the frame size also.

With all the trouble they had with Eleanor, I'm not surprised they would have gotten extras! Or maybe they stole the extras so they could be cannibalized for spare parts.

Photo above by user 62imperial answers some questions I've had for so many years. The car as seen today, has so much more damage than as seen when exits the car wash at the films close. The mirrors, license plates, what was left of the tail lights, grille, and even the front valance are gone today. And were that way in The Junkman as well. Seeing as all that was intact at the end of the chase and even the parking lights were still working, had me question whether he did stunts to promote the film. Mystery solved, thank you
