There were a lot of aftermarket parts available enabling you to put a small block Chevy engine in the stock engine compartment, upgrade the transmision and rear axle and you had a real neat ride. If you didnt mind moving the radiator support and cutting the firewall, you could put a big block in it, those were a little more challenging to keep between the ditch's.
