Question for Ralph, is this series out on DVD?? |
◊ 2006-06-18 22:03 |
Je pense qu'on peut traduire par "Sur la route" ou "On the road". Mais pas sûr à 100%... Achse a plusieurs traductions possibles... -- Last edit: 2006-06-18 22:04:51 |
◊ 2006-06-18 23:01 |
Word-by-word translation means "On axle" - translation by meaning is "on tour" or "on the road" (as suggested by Bebert). |

Is this a trucker's series? |
◊ 2006-07-04 06:24 |
Question for Ralph, where do they sell those DVD's? |
◊ 2006-07-04 12:20 |
Amazon USA (amazon.com) doesn't seem to have them - Amazon Germany sells "Auf Achse" DVDs: http://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B0009YLHIG http://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B000BZFPHC http://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B000CJD3L2 http://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B000F0USPW "Auf Achse" is/was a 'international truckers & their adventures round the globe' series. And you have to be careful when buying those DVDs. This begins with another DVD region (to allow the manufacturers to avoid worldwide sales) and ends with the need for a TV set capable of showing different video standards if you don't use a PC. Europe uses variations of the PAL standard, not NTSC. For some details see here: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0076980/ -- Last edit: 2006-07-04 12:59:46 |

Don't the trucks horns sound like the American truck ones? |
◊ 2006-07-15 06:08 |
Are there any episodes that take place in America? |
◊ 2006-07-15 15:47 |
Yes. Some episodes take place in Chile. South America. |
◊ 2006-07-15 23:40 |
I mean are there some episodes that take place in the U.S and Canada? -- Last edit: 2006-07-16 19:19:54 |
◊ 2006-07-21 14:29 |
I cannot recall an episode taking place in North America, no. |
◊ 2006-07-21 14:34 |
They do. In fact, they were imported from America in those days. Actually, the entire trucker craze was imported from the US in the late Seventies. Movies like Convoy or Smokey and the Bandit were highly popular over here and helped giving the entire road transport industry a completely new image. So much so that this German series capitalized on this 'new' fad. -- Last edit: 2006-07-21 14:35:48 |

Do the actors speak English in most episodes? |

◊ 2006-07-26 21:11 |
I noticed they speak German, but what if we don't know German. Would they be able to translate to English? |
◊ 2006-07-26 22:11 |
Compme quoi le monde entier n'est pas encore obligé de parler Anglais... |
◊ 2006-07-26 22:23 |
Why not learn German? It is a nice language. |
explorer4x4 ◊ 2006-07-26 22:26 |
If you want to translate a language use Altavista's Babelfish translater (http://babelfish.altavista.com/), that or Google Translations. And Alexander, people have asked me to earn French and German, but I have enough trouble with Latin, Italian and Greek. |
◊ 2006-07-26 23:38 |
French is easy, I've never studied it, but on this videoclip it is very clear, what Mr. Kinski (what great actor he was) is saying for the press... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PWYYzOW6GGo&search=klaus%20kinski |

We have to meet one day, and everyone can talk in his own language! It will be easy to understand one another, especially if someone mentions 'Citroën', 'Tempo' or 'Western Star'! If special friends join in, this will start an argument... Danke für Eure netten Kommentare! |

Has anyone here on IMCDb met another member? I know Allpar.com has a gathering ever so often, just to meet members face to face. But I think Europe and North America would be a little harder then Eastern adn Western US. |

◊ 2012-08-30 12:50 |
Did they? There are other trucks as Volvo and Scania, too. Well, as the most MAN trucks, which appear here, are looking new at the time of filming, it's very probable, that the reason for that was product placement. |
