And you have to be careful when buying those DVDs. This begins with another DVD region (to allow the manufacturers to avoid worldwide sales) and ends with the need for a TV set capable of showing different video standards if you don't use a PC. Actually, the entire trucker craze was imported from the US in the late Seventies. Movies like Convoy or Smokey and the Bandit were highly popular over here and helped giving the entire road transport industry a completely new image. Well, as the most MAN trucks, which appear here, are looking new at the time of filming, it's very probable, that the reason for that was product placement.
