I love this show and one of the fan sites is back online. |
mister car from 971 ◊ 2008-05-13 21:56 |
There are a lot of cars seen in this series missing. For example, there's a dark grey 1983-87 LTD Crown Victoria (or Grand Marquis) which was crushed in scrap yard with a man captured by bad guys, or a light grey Jeep Cherokee which rolled over several times during a chase with the Viper. And they've blew up a Beetle in an episode because they shot on the gas receiver. -- Last edit: 2008-09-16 08:45:01 |

you are also forgetting the perfectly good Light Iris Pearl Chrysler Cirrus they blow up in season 4 |
mister car from 971 ◊ 2009-10-26 00:57 |
Oh! And there's a Charger, Road Runner, GTX or Coronet seen in an episode which deals with street racing, and at the end, one of those muscle cars flipped over and explodes! |

I used to watch this show and wish that they would release it on dvd, It has a nice selection of Chrysler pre-pros, Concepts and mules but I have a question as to how it should be listed on this site. The Pilot was a "made for TV" movie with an imdb number of 0324452 The 1994 Season has a separate imdb number: 0108983 and the 96-99 Seasons (Syndicated Revival of the 1994 season) have a different imdb number: 0115413 -- Last edit: 2010-01-20 22:40:09 |

I think the one match for all of them is the best option. On IMDb 1994 series has for example season 1, 2 and 4. On FilmWeb 1994 season has photos from later series. IMO 3 matches is at least a one to many. PS. In USA this show also is not available on DVD? I thought that is only eastern Europe problem. |
◊ 2010-01-21 01:01 |
Yes I agree that they should all be listed together I just wasn't sure which imdb number should be used. As far as the DVD this show has not been released on DVD anywhere |
◊ 2010-01-21 09:07 |
If we think of "Viper" as a one big whole, then made for TV pilot would be the first episode of 1994 series and its 1996 reincarnation would be the next season of this. I think 0108983 is the best option (but I'm here new and I don't know much about how this site works). |

I remember watching this show during it's first run on TV. The number of prototypes and show cars fascinated me. It was an excelent way to enhance the "near-future" setting. A question though. Should the regular appearance of the main vehicle (as a standard Viper RT/10) be included as a separate vehilce? I think this would make sense seeing as they used two different vehicles to portray the two different forms of the "Viper/Defender". Also, I think it would be worth posting the off-road version of the Defender (the one said to be built on a Dodge Dakota 4x4) as a separate vehicle also. Yes it is supposed to be the same "Defender" vehicle. But it was clearly a separate vehicle used in the production. I don't mean that every duplicate car used to portray the "Defender" should be given an entry of its own... just the radically different vehicles such as the stock Viper RT/10, and the off road version. |
◊ 2010-01-21 22:51 |
I agree mycroft as well as the Viper GTS used in the later seasons. I am hoping that khaosth will upload these images |
◊ 2010-01-22 02:37 |
I agree also - seperate Viper from defender. I don't really see need to seperate defender in off-road mode from defender, but civilian Viper is for me something different than Defender. Defender, Viper, Barracuda, Epic and Joe's bike pictures I will add at the end. I won't add GTS pictures for a time, because I have found only first series. I will looking for next three seasons but I don't know when - not in this month unfortunately. And I'm sorry for making so many unknown - I'm trying to find names of them but I don't even know where to look for infos. |
◊ 2010-01-22 02:44 |
I would still list the Defender in 4x4 mode as it is not a Viper, but a Dodge Dakota, but it is up to you as your the one uploading the pictures as far as the unknowns, your not doing that bad and most of the ones I have been able to identify as I validate them -- Last edit: 2010-01-22 03:21:06 |

More important cars from season one are added. There are some cars that could be listed but I'm not sure if they should: 1 star: - left Mitsubishi (2000's Eclipse, 3000 GT?), right Saturn SL1 fire brigade Car shown at the end of episode and blured. Is it the same red car from pilot background? Concept or nothing special? Trucks from background. White on left and this on right. In this scene Joe drives slowly because he's looking for one guy on the streets. Car shown only in this scene. It stopped, take the passengers and drive away. 2 stars role. 1-2 stars. -- Last edit: 2012-02-24 07:59:40 |

1 star: 1963 Dodge Appears to be a Chevrolet Corvette [C4], by the color scheme it might be some special edition Car shown only in this scene. It stopped, take the passengers and drive away. I think it's an old Chrysler 2 stars role. Infiniti Q45, I think Also, there's a blue 1948 Tucker Torpedo on one of the posters. -- Last edit: 2010-01-25 21:17:53 |

My yellow 1969 Dodge Coronet 500 was in that episode! All of the extras at the drag race scene were the owners of the cars they used. I think it was somehow cheaper to hire the owners as extras and get them to bring their cars then to just rent the cars. It was filmed at an old airstrip, we had a ton of fun doing burnouts all morning long, just to lay down some rubber and make it look like a drag strip! They really bagged on that Viper that day! The yellow '66 GTO blows up at the end of the scene. They had an old '66 Lemans stripped out to stand in for the actual explosion. It was pretty scary as the car didn't roll quite where they had planned for it to go! Obviously, they only had one take to get that shot! I also remember how hard it was to put the fire out. The vinyl dash caught, and was next to impossible to put out. It was just like a tire fire I guess, but it really made me think about the safety of those old cars. I used to have a VHS recording of this episode, but somewhere over the years it was lost, it would be nice if it was released on DVD. |

You're welcome :P I have a question: The DVD features many scenes that were removed for Television. Is it a deleted scene or additional DVD content? I mean, they weren't officially deleted. -- Last edit: 2014-06-21 21:39:27 |

Everyone knows the Chrysler Stratus. But do you know the Dodge Cirrus? I cant figure out as what i should post it. It has the Dodge front (with Chrysler logo) and clearly the Chrysler tail lights. |

Am I the only one who feels the IMDB link should be this one: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0115413/?ref_=tt_ov_inf and the 1993-1994 series should be given it's own page? -- Last edit: 2014-12-06 22:57:57 |

We discussed this before and the outcome was to keep both series together. So i decided to do it that way. Before i started we had a single car from Season 3 so there was no doubt about it. But please dont think this is an offense. But someone had to make a decision |
◊ 2015-01-06 20:42 |
Looks like you've finished this series soon...Is it back to Helicops then? That page really needs an update. |
◊ 2015-01-07 21:53 |
I wanted to continue "King" and do "Helicops" as part-time job. But if you want i can prioritize HeliCops. |
