I recall seeing not only the Fiero concept, but also the Pontiac Banshee concept in this film. Has anyone else noticed it? |
◊ 2005-10-03 18:16 |
There are lots of cars in the fututre scenes, some that are easy to recognize. I should make the captures of them. |
◊ 2005-10-09 14:32 |
All the vehicles visible at the end of the first movie are visible in the beginning of this one, since the movie starts few minutes before the end of the first episode. So the Toyota Pick-up and the BMW 7-series are briefly visible. In scenes that reference the first movie, Doc's Packard (used by Marty) is also visible. I watched the movie again so I added few cars, including the Banshee that I found But this "concept car" will be more difficult to identify: -- Last edit: 2005-10-09 18:04:35 |

A detail that I haven't seen before: the Studebaker dealer of the 50's has been replaced by a Pontiac dealer (see the VW Beetle and the Pontiac Fiero pictures) |
◊ 2006-01-29 19:42 |
It also features a SAAB EV-1 (a concept car based on the OG900). |

I have to find it! It looks nice, according to the pictures that I find on Google |

I added the cars used in first movie too - they deserve that |
◊ 2006-04-11 22:07 |
There was a Ford Tempo that was dressed up as a futuristic car too. The scene where they first land in the alley in 2015 and Marty is walking towards the town square, there is a 1986 Ford Tempo that lands or drives by in the "No Landing Zone". |

"But this "concept car" will be more difficult to identify" It looks like one of these solar-powered cars... It may also be of the brand "made for movie" (I love that brand!) |

Like what I did for the first movie yesterday, I updated pictures and added missing cars. |

Made some screenshots and "captured" new vehicles not yet mentioned. Gene Winfield's Spinner (made for Blade Runner - we got some pictures in general comments: /movie.php?id=83658). This website says the Spinner was rented and repainted (http://media.bladezone.com/contents/film/interviews/gene-winfield). They must have done it twice! See the black one in the city shots and another at night that looks yellow/green. The other car that we got here as Made for movie, must be the second car rented by the coachbuilder Winfield (the grey sedan) since he rented 3 of his creations. The original Blade Runner car (police Spinner) BTTF: Then there is this bus, very probably "borrowed" from another movie, too: Another great concept car that has skipped from the sight before - 1986 Pontiac Transsport. Sorry for the size, it only appeared on the background. I realized I'm a bit nuts about this movie Will post more things later. |

You can see it when Marty gets out of the delorean just after they arrive in future and walks down the alley, before he puts the jacket on. i'll have to grab the screen shot, but it's all red (no black stripe like the one above / custom probe). at first i thought it might be the KITT 4000 from 'knight rider 2000' movie (which copied the banshee). |
◊ 2008-09-11 10:10 |
That comment was posted in 2005, in the meantime the car has been added: /vehicle_11230-Pontiac-Banshee-Concept-1988.html |

Soon before Marty reaches Strickland's house in the alternate reality 1985, he passes by a smashed-up Citroen DS or ID. Can anyone please get a picture of it? |

Gracias. -- Last edit: 2010-07-14 12:39:27 |

I saw this film again on TV recently and it really hit me that "the future" in this film is only 2 years away from now. |
◊ 2013-02-04 16:27 |
only now ?? ) let's see 1) NO Pontiac 2) No flying cars and I doubt there ever will be even if technologicaly possible since every terrorists could fil it with gas and bombs and crash into buildings 3) NO automtic shue lases 4) No Hoverboard 5) no Jaws 21 and Max Spielberg as director 6) no abolishing of laywers where criminal trials are over in a mater of hours bu they got things right 1) flat widescreen TV are standard 2) the Asians have US economy by the balls 3) finger print house locks do exist -- Last edit: 2013-02-04 16:28:56 |

There was a quick distant shot of a 1962 or 1963 Chevy II Nova convertible in the "future" scene. I believe it was blue in color. It was when Marty was going to "Biffs Pleasure Palace" |

Part Two has the DeLorean really have lots of screen time. While in Part One it was used in the beginning and hidden much of the movie. Part Three also was only in the beginning and end. |

Well, its October 21st, 2015. No flying cars, no hydration pizza, and there isn't a fashion style of wearing two neckties next to each other. We do have a hoverboard though, by which I mean a segway without handlebars. |
◊ 2015-10-21 22:13 |
oh, yeah, besides the flying cars, the pizza ( how could i forget that ? ) As for the hoverboard, not a problem for me if its not there yet, i've never been able to stand on a skateboard so i expect i would have the same " talent " on the hoverboard.. |

◊ 2022-11-19 10:58 |
Hell, what do you expect? That's why it's called 'science fiction' because that's exactly what it is. Off the top of my head, the only scene set in the future that's accurate to how it turned out to be is the epilogue of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2, which is set in 2017. |
