ChooCV ◊ 2009-01-05 18:34	We saw a Lamborghini but fortunaly the car that was beat up was either an E-Type or a form of E-type replica, I'm leaning more toward an E-type though. There are plenty of scenes in The Love Bug such as the Mexican where you can see a bunch of junk cars (and a few of Disneys other movie cars) so I wouldn't doubt that the E-type was already a wreck.

When Herbie is smashing into the car, it is in fact a real Jaguar E type (I don't know of that car ever being produced in kit form). At the time the movie was made, old sports cars were just used cars and not the collector items they are today. The Jag I am not 100% on if it was wrecked before hand, but I do have photos in my collection of both the Lamborghini and the Jag. The Jag pics actually show the car being constructed for the movie, so what ever it started like, it was made to look worse and then painted.

Did the best I could, may be you have better quality ones? I think it remains interesting trying to identify these pieces of bolts, it has always puzzled me since I've seen the movie for the first time

Maybe but keep in mind that it does not matter for a common user. If he wants to know more about these cars he'll have to visit the page of the different movie. And it's not cool (for him).

You're right it's mainly footage from Fireball 500 and Impact 66'. But since they do not appear in the first and the second is not a movie, these cars became full part of the love bug, so they benefit as much as the others to be on the page of the movie, regardless if they are almost destroyed or not. -- Last edit: 2017-06-08 22:55:29
