This is the made-for-TV movie that was the pilot for the series. It is also known as "Backlash of the Hunter." I will add additional vehicle caps in the comments section of each vehicle after they are approved. It has two IMDb pages: One page as a made-for-TV movie called "The Rockford Files" which served as a pilot for the series. (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0072093/) One page as an episode of the the "Rockford Files" tv seies called "Backlash of the Hunter." (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0687988/) It is aired as a two-part episode in syndication. The bad guys use a plane to chase Jim. -- Last edit: 2010-03-03 02:16:07 |

This page should technically be included as 1.00 on /movie_71042-The-Rockford-Files.html, but I guess we can accept it as seperate thing. Then again, I ask how vehicles should be listed, because there are two 50-minute parts of it. -- Last edit: 2018-05-10 17:54:28 |

I think there shouldn't be episode numbers, they are only split for syndication. It aired as one whole TV movie. |

I know. The problem is there won't be chronology without eps. I'm open to giving them up tho. |

Looks like they added some scenes for syndication, as this aired in March 1974 and there are a few 1975 Model Year cars seen. |

Part 1 added. |

Should we approve this now to allow you to add Part 2? |

Completed. Shouldn't "Backlash of the Hunter" be included in the title or put as alternative? Intro vehicles: -- Last edit: 2018-05-19 15:23:15 |

This, and your other similar comment, can probably be answered with product placement. That, and the fact that the US model years are, in some cases, available as early as in February. |

The most likely explanation is when they converted the TV movie into two separate episodes for syndication (which would have happened a few years after it aired), they had to add extra scenes to fill the time gaps. There are not just 1975 models, but a few 1976 in there as well. I'm guessing that they were most likely transition scenes of the Firebird driving that were probably in other episodes. |
