Surprised this series hadn't been done already, I will do series 4 at some point, don't have the means to do the earlier series.

The ep3.08 panda car roof is probably a Minor 1000 from Metropolitan Police

Uploading S1 and S2 from the DVD set
[Image: dvdcovercompx3.4.jpg]
"Callan - The Monochrome Years", which is apparently the full collection of surviving episodes. So S1 only has the original "Armchair Theatre" pilot (nothing in it for us), ep1.01 ("The Good Ones Are All Dead") and ep1.06 the series one finale ("You Should Have Got Here Sooner"). S1 footage quality very poor, and the production budget looks cheaper than a very cheap thing with cardboard sets and almost nil outside shooting with any cars only in very short segments. But the plots are very strong underneath all the balsa wood and sticky tape.

They make more of an effort in S2 (9 surviving episodes of 15, one of which "The Worst Soldier I Ever Saw" ep2.13 was apparently reconstructed from an untransmitted recording block to recreate the original as closely as possible for inclusion on the DVD).

Ep 1.6 - a can of Heinz "Mock Turtle Soup" with the brand blacked out
[Image: mockturlesoup.jpg]

The recipe is a bit mind-boggling
Mrs. Fowle's Mock Turtle Soup: Take a large calf's head. Scald off the hair. Boil it until the horn is tender, then cut it into slices about the size of your finger, with as little lean as possible. Have ready three pints of good mutton or veal broth, put in it half a pint of Madeira wine, half a teaspoonful of thyme, pepper, a large onion, and the peel of a lemon chop't very small. A ¼ of a pint of oysters chop't very small, and their liquor; a little salt, the juice of two large onions, some sweet herbs, and the brains chop't. Stand all these together for about an hour, and send it up to the table with the forcemeat balls made small and the yolks of hard eggs.

Anybody any idea what it actually tasted like??

Planes for impdb from S2 (now complete; nothing in surviving S1 eps)

Ep2.01 ("the Moscow flight" - probably archive footage from Heathrow)
[Image: planemoscow.jpg] [Image: planemoscowb.jpg]

Ep2.04 - supposed to be Newcastle airport, but I think probably Denham Aerodrome (near Uxbridge, Middlesex) because G-ASRI seems to have been a Gregory Air Taxi (PA-23 Aztec 250) based there

- helicopter which is supposed to have flown in from Stockholm, but looks as if it would have problems flying more than 10 miles (these cheap budget programmes  )

S2.06 - "E German border", but likely to be a forest near London
