Car on the left? Pontiac LeMans (originally 1984 Opel Kadett) made by Daewoo, ca. 1988-90. |

Should we make this Origin of Germany? After all, it is based on Opel Kadett E series. Information found at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Opel_Kadett#Kadett_E website. Opinion?? |

If you get into the whole "based on" thing, though, it can start to get hazy. So many cars share platforms internationally, and sometimes (with GM cars especially) it can be difficult to determine where the platform really originated. |

Skid, I have been debating about this. You can find this at Link to "forum.imcdb.org" with my idea of adding another field in this web site. |

Vaguely based, but it is not just a rebadged car. They used the Kadett style for the Daewoo, but that's all, no? Even body parts are not compatible if I am right... |

I think the Daewoo/Pontiac LeMans was just a rebadged Kadett made by Daewoo, although the five-door hatchback had the same rear doors as the four-door sedan, presumably to reduce costs. Link to "en.wikipedia.org" /vehicle_45075-Daewoo-LeMans.html (showing the different doors) The LeMans was later facelifted to become the Nexia, which is still made in Uzbekistan. ![]() http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Daewoo_Nexia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/UzDaewoo |
