14stutz ◊ 2025-02-18 07:32	This generation of the El Dorado was produced from 1979-85. Convertibles were only built by Cadillac in 84 and 85.5500 were built. However, looking at the car closely on TV (better views than the one here) I think it may be a pre-84 converted by one if the custom specialist firms back then. I base that on the extra chrome around the top well (most factory photos show the top "boot" in place, so this is difficult to tell). Also the top header atop the windscreen looks different from the factory unit.
