"Hearse" is generally used in the UK and funeral coach would sound a bit strange. Similar I guess to the difference between 'Estate Car' and 'Station Wagon', but if its only being used as a general description to be understood by all 'funeral coach' would be fine. ![]() This would be a conversion on an FX3 taxi and would be carried out by a coach-builder so they would differ slightly but they are generally of a similar design. |

The conversion is probably based on the hire car version named 'FL1' which is almost identical to the 'FX3' but has all doors and no 'TAXI' sign on the roof. It was produced from 1949-58. Link to "carpoint.ninemsn.com.au" |

All Austin FX3/ FL1 hearses that I know of were built by Thos. Startin Jnr. Ltd. (or just "Startin"). I think this is another one of them. |

BLW 434 plate (2nd thumb) was an early 1935 plate - no trace now, but might have been a genuine transfer at film date. |
