Southern did a few of this type of series in the 1970s, with (The) Freewheelers being the most memorable. Posted this one because of the Riley and a comment in a Riley club magazine that we didn't have it, but it's otherwise fairly average. Had a remastered DVD re-release in 2009 with apologetic notice about quality ![[Image: notice.jpg]](http://pics.imcdb.org/10314/notice.jpg) which is an understatement - most of the footage is very murky and/or blurry. Some very odd characteristics today - it's a kids story without any kids in it, most characters are heavy drinkers (usually generous slugs of whisky), everyone smokes all the time, there's a lot of relationship issues (divorce, widowhood, adopting stepchildren) which are way above kid's heads. Almost as if it was an adult thriller switched down for kids. Another strange thing is how the main protagonists keep getting their families (wives, sons, daughters) involved in helping them when things get dangerous - totally different from stuff today when the hero becomes a bigger hero by triple-protecting his loved ones.
