Not a Spécial, which in 1976 would have been brand new, yellow and without a third side window. It's a 1970+ 2CV 6. There is some dispute over whether this bumper came for or in 1971, I generally accept it as 1972-74 since it's first featured on the September 71 brochure. |

Can't comment usefully on the bumper, but when I posted it, I thought looked brand shiny new for film date in a mid-70s stark white with white roof. Am I imagining it as mid-70s?? |

White was only available on the 2CV in 1970/71 and then again from 1983 until the end. ![]() |

No, you see 'blanc cygne' was September 69 to September 70 (1970), and 'blanc meije' September 70 to September 71 (1971). What's bothering me is that this bumper doesn't show up in available reference material until very late. Dynamike claims it came in October 1970, but I can't find any contemporary proof aside from this entry: /vehicle_1108207-Citroën-2CV-1971.html |

OK - I'm withdrawing mid-70s/brand new thoughts - also because no chevrons in grille. I've only got a cheap UK 2CV picture book to work with, which doesn't give much detail. However the author's name made me smile for this case - Matt White. |

Dynamike has often said this bumper was introduced in the late summer/early fall of 1970 but I could never find a reference to confirm it. Now however I have found a Yugoslavian brochure that must be 1971 as it features the GS (introduced August 24, 1970 and formally introduced at the Paris Automobile Salon in October) as well as a white (the last year for this color until 1983) 2CV with these bumpers: http://www.citroenet.org.uk/foreign/jugoslavija/images/tomos-73.jpg A Yugo road test from March 1971 gives further confirmation: https://avto-magazin.metropolitan.si/avtomobilski-testi/tomos-citroen-2-cv-6/ tl;dr 1971 only. |
