Limousine Crown Imperial (carrossée par Ghia) |

The use of the designation "Crown Imperial" is incorrect in most cases. I believe that "Crown Imperial" is the designation for the "Imperial" limousine by Ghia. "Imperial Crown", on the other hand, is the correct designation for one of the three standard Imperial models built in the years 1957-1963. " |

Correct, MrCadillac, except that the Crown models continued as a coupe/sedan/convertible series for nearly a decade past '63 until Imperial was reinvented as a two door "personal" car. The Crown name never resurfaced in the subsequent embarrassing attempts at resurrecting Imperial. |

One of very few (12ish) Ghia Limousines for 1960, this one was hacked apart by the sobs in Hollywood for this short role. Hopefully not destroyed beyond all repair. |

I've just snipped a few glimpses of the movie, and in the next scene the Tatra joins the Imperial - we need a pic of that! |

Yet more Hollywood abuse of a rare, collectible car. |

I heard that Imperial was a division of Chrysler (correct me if i'm wrong) |

From 1955 through 1975, Imperial was a separate make. |

Good news everyone! This isn't actual Ghia, it is just regular Imperial Crown just lengthened to replicate Ghia. Only one actual 5-window 1960 Ghia Limousine were built. Note the roof trim is totally dis-similar to any true Ghia limousine but in placement and type. Also, rear window is same as been on regular Crowns http://www.flickr.com/photos/11174140@N00/3839002346 -- Last edit: 2014-01-29 12:10:07 |

Imperial limo brochure from 1960. Production was 16 units. Link to "www.oldcarbrochures.com" |

Only 16 built? Couldn't have been a too popular limo. |

Xenotime is correct, ALL Ghia limousines had doors that extended into the roof, much like the Cadillac series 75 limousines of the same period. As someone who has owned a Ghia Limo [1965 #9], I am happy to know this is not one of the rare limos. |
