Une Ford Torino qui aura eue la vie dure. Un poteau, fourrière, container a poubelle, massacrée a la batte, pour finir incendiée... snifff... @+ |

'72 or '73, probably '73. |

![]() ![]() Another movie car that is so suited to the character who drives it. Already rusted and dilapidated when it first appears, gets more and more banged up as the film progresses: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() And in the end gets set on fire: ![]() -- Last edit: 2012-05-15 00:21:16 |

Interesting cameo of this car: /vehicle_8738-Ford-Gran-Torino-1973.html |

In the scene where this picture came from it's a miracle the car is still running because the engine is knocking quite audibly. |

Technically, the model name is "Grand Torino" |
◊ 2007-07-10 06:24 |
Isn't it "Gran Torino?" |
◊ 2008-09-30 19:50 |
Yep - "Gran Torino" is correct. |

I'm pretty sure 376 PCE is the same license plate that Christine had in the movie of the same name. |

That black coupe (Mitsubishi I think) of front of the Torino in the main image, worth listing? |

That things all beat up, but it still looks cool. Does anyone else think the Gran Torino looks better as a 4 door? I know it's weird, but I just think certain kinds of cars look better either as 4 doors or 2 doors. |
◊ 2009-10-01 03:45 |
For the 1972-73 Gran Torino's I liked the 2 doors better but for the 1974-76 Gran Torino's I liked the 4 door's better |

Early Mitsubishi Starion in the picture. -- Last edit: 2009-10-01 05:25:59 |

DT83, I am a big 4-Door fan. Most (but not all) sedans look better than their 2-door counterparts to me, this one included! |

I just recently bought a 1972 4 Door Gran Torino, and I agree I really like the 4 doors compared to the sport. I was looking on here to see what other movies they have been in, other than "Gran Torino" of course. Haha, and I completley forgot about this one. I need to watch this movie again. |

Could this be five-star as well, because it suites the main character who drives it, most of the time and it sure is iconic. I never been the kind that says "the five-star rating is because the vehicle is iconic", this does fit in that category. |

A few sources claim there were two cars used in the movie, one of which was set on fire and destroyed. It's claimed that the survivor was used in Blue Streak and that episode of The X-files, and that it was destroyed in the latter, though I don't recall the car actually being destroyed in the episode? |
