Some of those limos are listed with their LWB chassis codes (V210, V124, V123, V220, V126), some others are not (W210, W124, W123, W220, W140, W126).
We should harmonise this. But which notation to choose?

I suggest only to list officially stretched Mercedes cars (= extended by Binz) as V___, which contains the "Lang"-versions, the ambulances and usually the funeral vehicles (even though not all coachbuilders were provided with them by Mercedes Benz). All others are aftermarket conversions which once left the factory as regular sedan. In my understanding, listing a W220 stretch as "V220" is just wrong.

Sounds plausible, but would cause a lot of renaming, since all ambulances and hearses have W-codes at the moment. And maybe it is not always visible if a stretch was made by Binz or a third party.
Dropping the V-codes could be an option. The search function provides enough facilities to find a specific model (e.g. typing the W-code and activating 'Limousine'). Official MB limousines have 'Lang' or 'Pullman' in their model names, the others could be labelled with 'Stretched Limousine' (most of them already are).

In most cases you just have to know if a stretch once was made by Binz, which is not so dramatic since just a few coachbuilders received these official stretch versions. But your suggestion of just dropping the V-codes will probably be the best way to handle that problem - just by eliminating it.

It's maybe not the most ambitious solution, but we have already made decisions like this in the past to simplify matters. Let's hear what others think about it. If nobody disagrees, I could do that change in the next weeks.

I'd agree with Animatronixx's original suggestion: keep the V-code only for factory-built models.
In the same way, we list C/R/A-codes for factory models, but the custom-made W210 convertible still has a W-code like a sedan.

Plate is real. This is not a V211. This stretch was built on the short wheelbase sedan. Relisting as W211.
