En France, quasi aucune réplique n'a pu ête homologuée, sauf parcours du combattant avec l'ex-service des Mines (aujourd'hui DRIRE, pas beaucoup plus conciliante...). Mais Georges Martin avait réussi à lanceer une fabrication en petite série de répliques (entre autres) de Lotus Seven, sous son nom.
