1979 made-for-TV war drama based on the book of the same name by Commander Jeremiah Denton, who was shot down over Vietnam and taken as a P.O.W. by the Viet Cong. He was among the first and the highest ranking P.O.W. to be captured during the Vietnam War. He was also the first to be released by Hanoi and returned to American soil during Operation Homecoming. An especially notable part of his story was an interview he did for a Japanese reporter which was later broadcast on American televisions, during which he blinked T-O-R-T-U-R-E in Morse code ( _ | _ _ _ | . _ . | _ | . . _ | . _ . | . ), confirming to American military authorities that P.O.W.s were being tortured.
