Will be too much easy say a BMW R75 ex-Afrika Korps,so say or a Dnepr or a Ural sidecar-bike masked like a BMW(the sidecar matches more with Dnepr in style) |

Mhouais... On dirait bien une Dnepr des années soixante-dix... Facilité, quand tu nous tiens! |

Pour un film supposé être en 1938 ça fait pas sérieux ![]() |

Usually Afrika-Korps BMWs shown attached boxes on the sidecar nose's edges(believe be oil jerricans or ammunitions'boxes for machinegun),that here don't appears PS Seems the same model: /vehicle_20931-Dnepr-MT-11-1980.html -- Last edit: 2007-01-08 11:43:14 |

It looks quite similar, indeed. -- Last edit: 2007-01-08 12:21:11 |

This page should be re-named Made for Movie BMW. |

If we're sure that it's a Dnepr MT 11, we shouldn't rename it. |
◊ 2010-03-01 20:20 |
We should add extra info saying it's been made to look like a BMW R75. |

In fact its not really modified at all, but they want us to think its a BMW R75, so we should add extra info saying ''as BMW R75''. |

Why couldn't they have just Urals? They're reverse engineered BMW R71s, so they would have been close enough. No, it shouldn't, because it wasn't specially made for the movie. |

Dnepr is as much close, as Ural. |
◊ 2012-07-29 04:44 |
As I discovered just recently. That is, that Dnepr was also the manufacturer of the reverse engineered R71. |

Definitely a Dnepr not a Ural, see double disc brakes on front wheel and rectangular valve covers on the engine.![]() ![]() -- Last edit: 2021-09-22 13:41:48 |

The motorcycle was sold in auction, listed as a 1988 Dnepr Link to "www.barnebys.de" ![]() ![]() ![]() |

On a second look, the auctioned bike was not screen used, potentially a backup unit ? The BMW logos are missing on screen, the sidecar handles are different, the lights on the rear fender are different as well. The license plate on front fender is missing too. Edit: the text says 3 motorcycles were built so this is likely the backup unit and allegedly reconfigured for a subsequent production. ![]() ![]() -- Last edit: 2021-09-22 16:46:01 |

Here is one of the bikes I believe at Universal Studios. |

This is neither a BMW nor a Dnepr. It's a film-modified Ural M series. Harrison Ford, Ural Motorcycles, Bloomberg magazine, and Car and Auto all confirmed it is a Ural M but the M-# was never given. |

Not a BMW or a Dnepr. Harrison Ford, Ural Motorcycles, Bloomberg, and many other serious Ural collectors identified all models of the sidecar in this movie as modified Ural Ms. It's confirmed in numerous places across the internet and in Harrison Ford interviews. |
