The real let down on this one is that the blower is fake. The belt does not turn and the butterflies do not open up. THey could have at least faked that to make it look real. -- Last edit: 2006-10-21 13:37:40 |

Seems to have strong roll over bars and the doors are sealed (Minty is allways climbing through the window). But its manual transmission with no clutch pedal in the movie? |

Nice motor, but come on! The blower on mad max's car was fake, but at least it turned. |

This was a VERY low-budget movie.Spending the money on a fake blower was a big enough expense for them. |

It's an automatic, he just manually shifts it on several occasions. |

Low budget? Yeah, but they saved a fortune on Sherilynn Fenn's wardrobe. |

meh, Bandit ones there was original factory editions of it why bother to make replicas ? this one however would be awesome , if the blower would have been real imagine the sheer power of it ![]() BTW here the race scene https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QEjQn9WVLHI&t=70s -- Last edit: 2017-12-19 14:28:00 |

Found this picture in a Youtube video: The blower is simply bolted onto the air cleaner and there isn't even a belt.![]() -- Last edit: 2021-08-18 09:42:33 |

The air cleaner canister and (disconnected) bit of intake ducting suggests this is either a Pontiac 400 or Oldsmobile 403 engine. So this started life as either a Trans Am or a Formula. |
