Looks like a Kia Carstar https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:00_kia_carstar_01.jpg

Often called Joice in export markets.

Sticking with Carstar. The Joice usually had sidemarkers.

Carstar was for Korea.

And this car came from there. Again, this can't be a Joice as they had sidemarkers.

Rename it correctly to Kia Carstar, please.

Can a moderator please correct this into Kia Carstar?
Exiv96 is clearly incorrect. A Joice would have sidemarkers on the front fender.

Will you guys change this to Carstar any soon?

For the millionth time, this is a Carstar not a Joice.

I believe the word you are looking for is 'repeater', not sidemarker. Sidemarkers are constantly lit at night and usually sit either within the turn signal housing or in a separate unit at or near the bumper edge. Repeaters are fender -or mirror-mounted turn signals required in most international markets except the Americas since the 1990s. The point you make is excellent, however, as I cannot locate a single Joice without a repeater. On the other hand, Caribbean and South American markets did receive many KDM cars that weren't subject to the changes required by, namely, the European market. Chances are this is a Carstar, indeed. @Rinspeed: are there any rear views of this vehicle that show the badging? That way we may settle this once and for all.

It is a Kia Carstar and that is called a repeater. There is no Kia Joice without a repeater. Why is it so unusual for this car to be sourced from Korea?
No need for a wall of text when an admin could just correct this entry in just a matter of seconds! Apparently not the case here.

Keep it incorrectly listed as a Joice then just because it was 'identified' by an admin, I won't insist anymore.

Go to the forum, if you think it's wrongly listed and have an issue with it. There's a thread about missed comments so you won't have to post 5 successive comments about it next time. Don't have an account? Get one.

I tried to be nice about it and feign some interest - Exiv96, Rinspeed and I are admins and since it's 2 against 1 then I'm not going to edit. You may try and get someone else, as I won't put up with your sass. Sorry mate.

No good asking me since I hardly recognise it as a car!

I'm trying to correct a listing, don't go all salty on me. I'm not going to write a whole forum post on how this is a Carstar and not a Joice. Not my problem anymore, I suppose you don't take feedback from users seriously as an admin.

In the end what is the right name for that one?
Is there any proof for one or the other name?
Or is one more probable than the other?

Lateef wrote Go to the forum, if you think it's wrongly listed and have an issue with it.

There is no much need to post on the forum if admins notice it here

Well Lateef was not sure about what name to give it and wanted input from someone else, sometimes it is useful to wait and check when there are conflicting name suggestions...
Not everyone is on the site all the time.

I was basically agreeing with you and then you just brushed me off. Just because it has the appearance of a Carstar doesn't automatically mean it's badged as such in a specific market like this.

To settle this dispute I contacted the Kia dealer in Saint Martin. https://www.facebook.com/people/KIA-SXM-Soremar/100063818444757/

The population is so small I can't find used car listings with either Joice or Carstar.

It's Joice according to the local expert. Bad luck Carstar fans.

kiasxmsoremar wrote Bonjour, de mémoire la kia joice est un nom qui me parle beaucoup, à défaut de l’autre. Maintenant c’est tellement loin, que je ne peux vous confirmer qu’elle était bien sur le marché de sxm. Bien cordialement

This is not bad luck. That 'local expert' you contacted isn't even certain of the naming. He just said that the name 'Joice' sounds more familiar to him 'from far away'. Anyway, too much of a deal already. Let's incorrectly assume this is one special Joice with no repeaters and call it a day. Or a month.

It doesn't have a repeater so this is a KDM car, that's your whole case. How likely is a KDM car in this market?
