IMDB, Wikipedia (.fr and .en), cinemovies.fr and premiere.fr agree on early 1968 as release date.

Note the enamel lava slab + concrete pillar "Michelin" road signs (fr). Made from 1910 to 1971, they were common in 1968 when the movie was released, but become scarce nowadays. The "Voie unique" warning signage also disappeared and was replaced by 2 more explicit ones (fr).
