Available here from Shell Historical Film Archive. Fascinating film for the cars and the dramatic mountain scenery and passes. Also for the spirit of the day - unbelievable lack of safety awareness the roads weren't closed off to other traffic, so they'd speed round a blind hairpin and find a donkey and cart in the middle of the road, some passes were unfenced with horrific drops. You have to wonder at the sanity of the drivers .... Totally different from today's artificial Scalextric events. |

At about 16-34 when the open TR3A (VWK 610) and the Denzel clip rocks at the hairpin, there's an intriguing glimpse of what looks like a converted Ford Zephyr pick-up which looks as if it's been sideswiped (by the TR3A??). I'm guessing a Ford team service car. |
