![]() Another CFF children's adventure taken from ![]() Children's Film Foundation Bumper Box 2 dvd set. Kids foil jewellery smugglers thanks to radio-controlled model planes. One of the better CFF films with lots of gizmos and technology to get excited about, but no compulsory CFF dog - they seem to have dropped this requirement for the second box set. Filmed in Kent (probably - it's a bit unclear) with a fake trip to "France" ![]() Portable TV ![]() - I think we had exact same when I were a lad. Phillips?? Ferguson?? Some of the planes ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

The TV uses the Thorn 980 chassis, which were sold with Ferguson, HMV, Ultra & Marconiphone branding. These were some of the last 405 line only sets, but the plastic cases made them look newer. Many were still in use as second sets until the 405 line switch-off. Often they sold off very cheaply to people who didn't realise they couldn't use them any more! At least until 625 - 405 line converters came along. -- Last edit: 2021-05-13 00:05:26 |

Obviously TV dealers who had learned their tricks in the car trade! I recall buying a very cheap Mazda 1300 that had no oil pressure when warm. The oil light had been wired into the ignition light so it went out. It cost me a set of crankshaft bearings and a new oil pump, fortunately no other damage had been done, but boy, didn’t it rattle when the oil warmed up! |
