Forgotten mid-80s series (13 episodes over 2 series) about ex-cop who was set up for corruption, served his prison sentence and then comes out into the world again to start his life again on a canal boat. We know he's a good guy and just wants a quiet time and to find his estranged son, but nasty people just won't let him alone ... etc etc. Excellent series at the time with a haunting theme tune - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3D1tXbmwYFs - starts gently but some very powerful episodes later in Series 1 and into Series 2 with excellent cast and well constructed characters. Lots of industrial semi derelict locations, good portrayal of canal lifestyle and people, and some ridiculous hairstyles. imdb only gives location as Greater Manchester, but there are some London sequences and the canal footage seems to include NE Wales (Clwyd), Cheshire, Shropshire and possibly Staffordshire and S & W Yorkshire.

S2 ep3 has a posh bikers gang creating local havoc, with at least 6 and possibly eight or more bikes involved. I've sifted out 6 bikes as separately identifiable for entries, and these are various other captures in case anyone's interested and because I know Sweet Ford Anglia about bikes.

Lots more blurry and/or night footage, but results would not be useful.

Ford tractor cutting grass on the infield at Manchester airport - S1 ep4 after 00-35.

A couple of scrappie pics from the end of S2 ep 7 for the vultures

I nearly gave the first one a page for the Datsun 120Y with P plate, and still could if anyone wants, but this is the only view. Allegro in 2nd has JVU 429N plate and was a 1975 1100 Deluxe at the bottom of the food chain.

I can never remember to do traffic lights, so here is a token effort from S2 ep6

In the mid-1980s most of Britain north of Watford was twinned with the Dole, not just Northwich thanks to chico's pin-up girl ...

Planes for impdb - now completed

S1 ep4. Footage of BA Tridents at Manchester airport (see Jodrell Bank in the background of 2nd view) at start and end of episode. Seems to be taken for the episode, not stock footage. One Trident has G-AWZU in some shots. Dialogue suggests the flights are Manchester direct to/from Charles De Gaulle. Start of ep:

S1 ep5: crop-spraying helicopter which seems to use /vehicle.php?id=602417 as a supply vehicle and landing pad. Filmed at Chirk aqueduct on England/Wales border - Link to "www.wrexham.gov.uk" , http://www.chirk.com/aqueduct.html , Link to "www.bbc.co.uk" , http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chirk_Aqueduct .
