No offense to the composers, but this classic children's series (aimed at toddlers and extremely shy 6-year-olds at best) has probably got the most unfitting melancholic music ever. Especially the music used for the credits. Picture Tchaikovsky's Waltz of the Flowers but with all life and joy snuffed out, all flowers trampled and withered in nuclear fallout. It rather belongs on a ghost train ride, the intro to a murder-mystery or playing in your head as you're slowly expiring at the bottom of a dark well. The fact that the music plays over a shot of a deserted street adds to it. I'm glad I was too old to experience it first-hand (I was watching Courage at the time) as it surely would have scarred me for life, especially as I enjoyed the books in kindergarten. The music is unsettling enough for me even as an adult. It's on par with Pompel og Pilt. Can't go wrong with an oversized creepy lifeless 1000-yard-stare lion cub teddy either. The thing blinks occassionally but unnaturally. Okay, rant over, it's cutesy, it has its moments, the kid actors and narrator do a fine job. This had way better music and presentation, shame that it was so short.
