-- Last edit: 2007-02-16 20:35:51 |

This is my favorite Fast & Furious in the series the reason well they wrecked the least of classic cars in this one and it had the best story line |
◊ 2009-12-06 22:22 |
I would. Shame they destroyed it. |

What!!! please, dont dis the tuners/imports like that. Besides, "im just sure you drive a car way nicer then those cars And actually this movie was the only good fast and furious, if you wanna talk about ricer cars then watch all the rest of the F&F's, (especially the 4th one). These cars in this movie are not even close to ricers, not only do they look elegent but most of them cars actually are suped up to quite high standurds (which makes them tuner cars, not ricers). -- Last edit: 2010-10-12 02:02:30 |
◊ 2010-10-12 01:59 |
Huh........ come on man!! You gotta have some respect for those tuners. I mean, i myself, likes a mid exotic (BMW) but these cars are really something. Before i was 12 i loved this movie, and i still do, and i'm a adult, as i got older i started to pay more attention to the storyline then the cars -- Last edit: 2010-10-12 02:01:38 |

◊ 2010-10-16 17:41 |
no, i kinda just threw that out there just to mention i kinda grew up, but no i wasnt dissapointed of the storyline, the only good fast and furious was this one, second one was alright, and all the rest sucked!! |

when we built the charger, we cut off a blower and bolted it to the hood. You will notice that you never see the belt spinning. or the engine torqing or a fuel injector block or carb under the scoop. . The gar sceene is a 392 achol. motor just sitting in the engine bay. Look how high it sits. |

I always wonder. Since real street racers were in this as extras, along with their actual cars, I always wonder what they do with their cars after they decide to stop racing. I mean, putting stickers, neon lights, subs and massive wings on cars went out style in about... '04? Hell, maybe when 2 Fast 2 Furious came out. And since it's so tasteless, how did they get rid of them? Take all of it and then sell them? Take off the parts and sell 'em to ricers? |
◊ 2011-06-20 06:12 |
So I take it that you didnt like the cars in the movie? Interesting though, so you helped build it? Nice, did you help build any of the tuners too? If you did send pictures!! |

Hi to all have you eard about a VW Rabbit pickup truck (vw caddy in europe) of 78 in background of the first race between Dom and Brian?... They talk about it in wikipedia who talks about the famous Jetta of Jesse and of this Rabbit pickup all two prepared by Dennis McCarthy... -- Last edit: 2019-02-04 19:42:35 |

I am not sure which looks better the remastered 4K or the old Blu_ray master (which is probably same used on DVD) maybe the 4K is a bit too sauturated... but on the other hand the pink hue is gone !!! so if there is interest I may do shots from the remaster !! -- Last edit: 2019-05-21 21:24:10 |

if there are no objections I will do caps for the main cars and the backround ones where the pink hue is too distracting -- Last edit: 2019-05-29 17:35:31 |

This used to be my childhood movie. It's what got me into cars. Well that and Hot Wheels. And the older I got, I had a much bigger appreciation for this movie and deeper understanding of the plotlines regarding the movies that come afterwards. I know a lot of people may hate this for the tuner scene, which I can understand, some people see that kind of thing as the automotive equivalent to Tekashi69, but given the rise of the underground racing scene, there was a lot more than flashy modifications. And while I can understand that people might hate the later movies (i.e. The ones after Tokyo Drift) for not being about racing anymore, which I do get but I feel like that's a bit superficial. The Fast and Furious movies were more than just the cars, they were about the camaraderie between Dominic Toretto and the people around him, even if 2, 3, and the upcoming spin-off feature different characters in the leading roles. If anything, I'd like to compare these movies to Miami Vice, where it takes something that was cool at the time and cranks it up to 11. The first movie centered around the JDM underground car culture while mixing in the tropes a gritty crime thriller. The second movie being a bombastic tag-along (which is another way of saying buddy cop without referring to the two leads as police officers) action comedy set in Florida, similar to movies like All About The Benjamin's and Bad Boys II. The third movie was about touge and drifting, given the popularity of the manga/anime series Initial D at the time. The fourth movie took a more gritty approach, similar to a lot of action movies around that year, but still retained enough charm of the original. The fifth movie was a straight up heist action blockbuster. The sixth was a spy movie with an intriguing twist. The seventh was a revenge thriller that picks up from the last movie. The eighth was a techno-thriller with an interesting scene regarding self-driving cars. And you get the idea. I personally love these movies. Yeah, they're not groundbreaking or thought-provoking or anything to that effect. They're fun little popcorn flicks with a relatively large emphasis on cars. And that's probably why I love them so much. Sometimes I just want to have fun when watching a movie. |

I thought I'd share Craig Lieberman's YouTube channel here. He was the original owner of both Vincent's Maxima and the Supra. He started posting interviews and videos about the cars seen in The Fast And The Furious. It also features a lot of unseen footage. Pretty interesting stuff: https://www.youtube.com/user/craiglieberman/featured |

I saw those videos, and they offer some great insight. I already like these movies, and now I have a much greater understanding for them. |

I have a soft spot for this movie. Sure, it's cheesy and dated. But so were a lot of movies from the 90's and early 2000's. Even setting aside the eccentric influence of car culture and questionable dialogue, I was still intrigued by the undercover cop aspect. Though I have a soft spot for gritty crime stories with a lot of cars involved. |

I seem to have made a mess of my test captures. The above image is not from 4K. Neither is this: It's from 1080p, but not the pinkish one. It looks less saturated than your 4K capture above, and the sky is blue. |

^ that's the remastered Bluray one who knew that sky is actually blue pinkish grabs are from the DVD era master which they slapped on the first bluray release in 2009 you can see yourself it's significantly better and more natural -- Last edit: 2024-07-22 21:52:53 |
