I've just looked at the IMDB page for this film, and it seems that Graham Chapman (from Monty Python) was in this! |

Yes, he's the (crooked) police inspector tracking down harry fox He drives the Vauxhall Carlton, which is used in a chase vs. the Mini (and also the police Metro.!) -- Last edit: 2008-04-22 14:34:24 |

With any special stunt like a crash or something similar? |

Nothing too spectacular.! The mini goe's under the digger arm of the JCB and squeezes between the other digger & transit pick-up (knocking off it's mirror ..wow.! ) The carlton brakes (as it can't make it through) and skids to a halt by the truck tyres Note:- the police Metro skids on some mud & has a minor crash into a fence (see pics provided) -- Last edit: 2008-04-22 15:42:57 |

Steve, you did not really write "Transit", did you? Mislaid your spectacles, I guess ... |
◊ 2008-04-22 23:15 |
Isn't that a Transit? /vehicle_170033-Ford-Transit-1980.html You were so dazzled by the Land-Rover that you did not notice the yellow vehicle in front of it -- Last edit: 2008-04-22 23:16:03 |

Yellow? What yellow?? A bit difficult to judge the length, but I would say it is an 88" Series III Station Wagon. |
◊ 2008-04-23 20:46 |
BTW, how did the Mini manage to knock off the Transit's mirror? Did it jump up? |

An easily recognisable Boeing 747. A much rarer Vickers Type 287 Wellesley Mk I (1937). This is a Stampe et Vertongen SV.4, probably the SV.4A today registered G-NIFE which was built under licence by S.N.C.A.N. (Societe Nationale de Constructions Aeronautiques du Nord -- short: Nord) in France. At the rear a Cessna Model 172, version B or later if I see it right. At the front an early version Cessna Model 150 as far as I can make out. The yellow helicopter is a Agusta Bell 206B Jet Ranger II, the other one an identical model, probably also produced by Agusta. And you missed something, Steve: ***** |

I think you guys were too busy looking at the cars in this film! You missed the Piper Seminole twin that is clearly visible to the right of the Jetranger as Graham Chapman drives the Carlton through the airfield gate; the Cessna 310 twin visible between the Land Rover fire tender and the buildings (as Chapman gets out of the Carlton); and the Grumman AA-5A Cheetah visible both as the pilot gets out of his \"outside armchair\" to greet Harrison and Fox, and when Graham dashes up to the Jetr. The Cessna 150B is clearly visible as the commandeered Jetr. lifts off, it is G-ARZX. The Stampe biplane is an SV.4C, owned at the time by Anthony Lindsay. It\'s Aeronavale (French Navy) roundels have been re-toutched by ommitting the characteristic anchors, in order to make it appear more \"British\". The aircraft was G-BHFG at the time. I really like this film, I well remember watching the series as I was growing up, and I love the theme tune (by Mark Snow of \"X-Files\" fame). I\'ve lost count of the times that the words \"C\'mon\" and \"Harrison\" appear in the same sentence! The critics pan it as \"vacuous rubbish\", but it\'s entertaining and funny vacuous rubbish!!! |

I recorded this when it was last broadcast on channel 5 (UK), 2007. |

You also missed the dark red Volvo 760 at the service station, as "Perry" telephones the "Duke" just prior to the "visit to Bath" sequence. |

I very nearly missed the dark red Volvo 245 Estate that drives right across the shot as "Fox" drives the wrong way up the airport entrance. It's just as the Montego is turning round. ('cos I've just been watching the video again!!!). |
