Few background cars: |

Is there any car action in the show like a car chase or a speeding scene or a hit and run scene |
◊ 2010-04-10 17:22 |
Hmmml... no, except the MB W123 was speeding around in a mulitstory parking lot in the 1st episode, and the Morris Minor Traveller did the same thing in the next episode. This serie is more of a thriller than an action-serie. |

This format of 3-wheeler covered pickup van is very unusual in UK. Reliant Ant/TW9 - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reliant_TW9 ?? -- Last edit: 2011-06-16 21:53:04 |

Great series - as good as anything the BBC did in the 80s. Excellent music too http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=35GpUhGjn8c&feature=related - the last thing Clapton did which is worth listening to. -- Last edit: 2011-06-16 21:07:59 |

I suspect that the 3-wheeler in the thumbnail is something like a Piaggio Ape, not a Reliant. The cab is too perpendicular and the wheels too small for a Reliant. |

Anyone able to upgrade this?? It deserves a new attempt, and as a bonus for anyone taking it on, it was a superb drama so should be an enjoyable journey. |

You need to ask? Oddly enough, I put a 1080p version of this on my to-see list just the other day, so I can do it once I start watching it, though that won't be for another week or two (I have my plans, but life doesn't care about them). Obviously, if anyone else has itchy fingers and wants to do it right away, I won't stand in their way. |

I didn't want to presume .... Hope you enjoy watching while you labour away! |

A few months ago, I was thinking about breaking out my old DVD box of this, rewatch and replace dead thumbs along the way, but if you have a better source you may go ahead |

Episode 1 upgraded to HD though it almost doesn't seem worth the bother with the drastic reduction in image size... Either way, added a number of vehicles I thought weren't listed but could be (three do play a role). If I added any duplicates, do merge or delete. some bonusmobiles from episode 1 (the fifth thumbnail is for the yellow wagon): for dsl, a bonus Mini-type thing with an odd (to me) front: > |

Episode 2 updated and added two vehicles. I also considered adding this bus: Two bonus VW Golfs making several appearances: The silver one has plate A943 JLT (not to be confused with A941 JLT) Bonus Rover: Bonus Leyland bus: Bonus miniatures: Bonus 1983 Ford Escort L 5-door hatchback, if the plate is OHT 786Y: > |

Episode 3 updated. bonus Lancia: bonus Ford fiesta: (at least I think the second one is a Ford; the last one has plate KLE 271K - 1972 Ford Escort 1110 L) bonus truck (can't make out the script): bonus Morgan, I presume (APL 520 now on a 2019 BMW): bonus 1980 Honda Accord by plate (LGT 868V): |

Episode 6, and with that the series, updated. Here's the bonus three-wheeler mentioned in an earlier comment: > The first five episodes were great, the last one was thoroughly depressing as it predictably couldn't be anything else. Joe Don Baker was an absolute delight, however. |

Gleneagles hotel, Perthshire. In 2016 it was apparently £1800 a night in the best suite (but no sea view). And there's a famous play park in the grounds where weird folk with strange sticks knock little white balls into holes in the ground. After the series was first broadcast, there were a few interviews with main cast and crew where folk admitted they didn't know how they were going to end the final ep. One writer apparently wanted Jedburgh to turn into a tree, but fortunately that was spiked. But I think someone said they filmed 2 or 3 alternative endings but still couldn't resolve it properly. |

Craven was accused of identifying himself as a tree in the 4th episode, so there would've been some continuity... Either way, by the time the fifth episode ended, I had a distinct impression they'd "written" themselves into a corner, as it were. I didn't think the last episode resolved anything, really, it just made the preceding five episodes seem like much ado about very little. Craven and Jedburgh deserved a better send off. |
