the absurdity of framing this low budget movies shot in 4:3 , probably cropped to 16:9 for theater, released in its original 4:3 on VHS and DVD amd now cropped again to 16:9 for Blu-Ray it's just mind blowing if you think about it -- Last edit: 2019-04-26 23:40:46 |

According to the technical specs, they used 35mm lenses, which would film at a 3:2 aspect ratio (or 1.5:1), which would be a little wider than the 4:3 (or 1.33:1-television screen ratio). It was then cropped to the Euro standard 1.66:1 cinema ratio for theatres. Your new pics are at the 1.85:1, which is now standard widescreen cinema, they are replacing Jale's old 4:3 ratio pics. So this film is no different than any other film out there, they always crop the prints to match the desired screen size. |
