I was a kid when this series was filmed in the area I was raised and remember this scrapyard quite vividly. We kids used to sneak in and 'play' with the cars, until we got caught and chased away by the operator or staff. They also had a vicious dog named Daimler, which could be a literal pain in the backside. Mr. Ode, who played the role of Kommissar Keller for the major part of the series, lived five houses down the street from our place. Not a very tall man, he had a huge German Shepherd, which he often walked in a nearby forest, chain-smoking filterless cigarettes. We used to shout him bad names when we saw him passing by. That was until he let his dog loose on us one day...

Gosh, I became nostalgic here for a moment....
