The two-part fourth season premiere, "Welcome to Korea," introduces B.J. Hunicutt to the show, and features a storyline about a general's stolen Jeep. It surprisingly appears to be an anachronistic vehicle that post-dates the Korean War, perhaps even a 1960s model.

It not only brings B.J. to camp for the first time, but in episode 4.03, Col. Potter makes his first appearance driving the same Jeep:

Now, this is clearly the M38A1.

Indeed :D
(If I'm not mistaken, the "Now" refers to this page ;) )

Made from 1952 to 1971 : 1952-57 as US models, 1958-71 as export ones. The make is apparently Willys, at least for the 1952-63 models: Willys was rebranded Kaiser-Jeep in 1963. Did the military models reflect that change?

The model name of these vehicles is written M38 A1 in the IMCDb, whatever the make given to it.

Huh, what do you know. I guess I was wrong about it being anachronistic. These episodes both supposedly took place in September 1952 in the show's storyline, so it would be a brand new Jeep (or Willys).

I'll change it to Willys if someone can tell me the correct year for this one and it falls in that range.

As US model (1952-57), it could only be a Willys. 1958-71 cars were export ones, so unlikely to be found in an episode of a US TV-series shot in California ;)

Hop, "1952 Willys" !

Oddly (for me) I can't see the line where it is supposed to appear on production figures.

Maybe it doesn't appear because the figures you link are about civilian CJ models ;)
For what it's worth: M38A1 production in jeeptech.com.

At least some "M38s" assigned to the 4077th were clearly later model CJ-5s repainted olive drab, but they tended to be at least a little more careful with ones driven by main characters in closeups.

Don't expect too much from MASH (or any other production) in terms of correct vehicles for the time frame.
While most of the H-13 helicopters used in the series were correct (like the ones in the opening credits), not all were. I recall a later civil Bell 47J showing up once.
