All Customlines made for the Australian market were made in Canada. This is a hearse, could be an optioned up Mainline Ute, note the body colour trim around the headlights. In Australia the Customline model was made popular by its use as support vehicles during the Royal Tour. In Sydney NSW Customline hearses were made by WS Smith (later Hadleys) and GW Grice (now a smash repairer) Mostly 56 model varients with the last grill and side light configuration (not the style in this picture). |

Hi! I went and bought this movie to see the hearse in it (I am a Hearse collector in Australia) and didnt get into the movie at all! Hey someone should post pics of the Customline Hearse in the legendary Aussie Film "Alvin Rides Again" which is the second Alvin Purple film and has an epic car chase with the Hearse (which is now being restored) Here is a pic of my 59 Ford Hearse ![]() |

As long as I just see the front, I suspect the hearse was built by Victoria-based coachbuilder Ansair Pty. Ltd. More pictures would be helpful... |
