Wait a minute, KAMAZ is a abbrevation! |
◊ 2006-10-23 10:34 |
You mean acronym? like Fiat, Alfa, BMW, etc. ? Some acronyms are not all in uppercase, but I do not know which one is correct for Kamaz/KAMAZ. -- Last edit: 2006-10-23 10:35:35 |

yeah it is abberabation KAMAskiy Avtomobilny Zavod. |

To be true to the russian name, this should be in full uppercase: ОАО КАМАЗ |
◊ 2006-10-23 22:51 |
OAO isn't a part of the make. |
◊ 2006-10-23 23:01 |
that was a trick one ... OAO would translate as 'Inc.' in english ... in a way it is part of the make ... Same way as Ford is 'Ford Motor Company' and Honda is actually 'Honda Motor Company, Ltd.', or Fiat is actually FIAT S.p.A. ... I guess for ease of use we can leave those ones out .... |

I meant that trucks are marketed as Kamaz only, the OAO is a part of the factory/concern name and the same situation is with Fiat etc. Maybe I understand the English word "make" improperly. |

So I should rename all Kamaz to KAMAZ? |
◊ 2006-10-24 19:57 |
We should check if the manufacturer uses Kamaz, KamAZ or KAMAZ. |

The company website uses "KAMAZ": http://www.kamaz.net/en/company/about |
