Willys MB. The markings are those of a US Jeep and the Hotchkiss M-201 wasn't made until 1955 |

This is actually a Ford GPW but VERY similar to the Willys MB. The defining characteristic in this photo is the front cross-member under the grille. The Ford pictured has an inverted "C" channel that is level across (between the frame rails) where the Willys MB has a round tube that curves slightly upward. When the light and angle permit, it is an easy distinction between the two. |
