..interesting, because in France there were sold by Réseau Chardonnet , if I remember, the same that imported Autobianchi, Lada ,etc...and there were named Polski-Fiat |

Maybe Fiat UK didn't allow the FSO importer to call them Polski-Fiats. |

Hmmmm, Sarkozy, very "Comecon" this name... ![]() At the end of the 80's, the name "Polski-Fiat" disappeared, and all the cars were sold under the name of FSO (partly because of FSM which is still building car for Fiat: 126, then Cinquento and Seicento) |

They where at one time called Polski Fiat and later one, somewhere halfway the 1980s the name was changed to FSO, I believe the F in FSO still stands for FIAT, but I am not sure of that... When they where called Polski FIAT, the FIAT was written in the same way on cars and documentation as FIAT wrote it's name...(same logo) |

According to Wikipedia, the F stands for "Fabryka": http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fabryka_Samochod%C3%B3w_Osobowych -- Last edit: 2006-08-01 19:32:01 |

Not really! The brand 'Polski-Fiat' started in 1932 and lasted up to the German occupation of Poland in 1939. In late 1965 a licence agreement between Fiat and FSO was reached to produce a special version of the Fiat 125 in Poland. For this reason the brand name 'Polski-Fiat' was revived. The production of the Polski-Fiat 125p started in late 1967 and lasted until 1988. In 1983 the brand name had been changed to FSO, the models now being FSO 1300 or 1500. The Polski-Fiat logo is rectangualar, the FSO logo round. This car was exported to some countries as the 'Fiat 125p', only the 'p' showing that it was made in Poland. |

Ok Alex, but I did not conclued to name all Polski-Fiat as FSO, as some exportation models were known as Polski-Fiat (In France for instance...) |

The day is today... ![]() Zastava imported the Polski-Fiat 125p into Yugoslavia and sold it under its own name. Additionally, I think, Zastava delivered parts to FSO which were used for the Polski-Fiat. |
◊ 2006-08-17 18:12 |
Yugoslavians assembled Polski Fiat/Zastava 125p with use of polish parts and in Poland (FSO) was asembled Zastava 1100 as Zastava 1100p. ![]() On the picture is Polski Fiat 125p, 1975 model. Edit: The frames of indicators are black (end of 1980) the type of vents below the grill isn't very clear, but the badge (this what's left of it) reminds the one from the 70s, so let's leave as 1975 (could be modified). -- Last edit: 2012-11-04 14:19:48 |

Sorry but to me that looks like a 'Sofia' (C) license plate. Looking at all the other shots 3/4 of them have 'Sofia' plates (the newer being the black letters on white background, the older the Moskovich with still cyrillic). Were any Polski-Fiats sold in Bulgaria? Thought they were all Ladas ... I'll check if I can. |
◊ 2006-08-18 20:25 |
Yes 126p was sold in Bulgaria for sure. It is PF 125p. -- Last edit: 2009-07-19 15:55:30 |
