This might be labeled Yugo 65 GTL, it has got a Yugo "Y" on the rear roof pillar. |

That's the problem with these cars, they sometimes have both Zastava and Yugo labels e.g. ftp://ftp2.antp.be/antp/perso/Kosovo/DSCF0076.JPG the car had a Yugo label on the front wing and a Zastava elsewhere. -- Last edit: 2006-07-16 22:45:19 |

No problem, thoses 1100 were called in Yougoslavia "Zastava", not Yugo. |

But why do they have Yugo logo (written in full letters on the picture in my link) |

Because in the "Bole zivots", it was so It's to hide the place were the Fiat logo was supposed to be on the original molds The best explanation: see this link http://www.inet.hr/~bpauric/epov.htm "Laku noch, moï Antoine" = Bonne nuit cher Antoine |

Pre-'80s ones are Zastava 101 at home,post-'80s are Zastava Yugo 101,while in early '90s becomes Yugo Zastava 101 55 and 65 PS Early Zastava 101 shown on roof C-pillar a "Z"letter(that position copied by contemporary Datsun 240 Z similar roof pillars logo???)inserted in a black background circle;then,in late Eighties, they switched at stilized"Y"logo(for many years Yugo--former spelled Jugo--was the name of another car,at home--those launched at 1980 Beograd M.S.as prototype, but put in production the next year, that resembles a Peugeot 104 Z coupe'--while in other export markets was the Brand that replaces that, originary,of Zastava(got also into Firm's name, switched by former ZCZ=Zavodi Crvena Zastava=Red Flag's Factory--to late Eighties'ZYA=Zastava Yugo Automobili--acronym)maybe for reasons of no-easy pronounce abroad. PS2 The car have a M-initial(M=Milicija,Police in Serbian idiom)on plates PS3 For antp:in your Country, early 101 imported into'70s were labelled as Zastava 1100(I've seen a one so-named in my town, coming just by Belgium,in 1977 Summer) |

It's a 1990 model, not 1983. |

At home they were rebranded and rebadged to Yugo in 1987, then since 1988/89 the model name was Skala. Since 2003 the brand was again Zastava: Link to "auto.blog.rs" |
