Hyundai Stellar? |
◊ 2006-07-16 11:55 |
From al the options mentioned above, Hyundai Stellar fits the best to me. |

Why couldn't it be a Corsica? |

What's a Hyundai Stellar? I've never head of that car before. And Explorer, it's not a Corsica because it doesn't have that huge side marker light. Also, the car above has lips around the wheel well and the Corsica doesn't. |

The Stellar was a cheap, entry level midsize sedan produced in the mid 1980s. Nothing important, it served the same purpose as the Ford Tempo, a mid-size/compact to fill in a gap untill they had something better. Also, it was super slow and weak. A measly 2.0L Mitsubishi was the strongest availible, while the competition like the Tempo had optional 3.0L V6. Not one of the better cars. Here are some pictures of the two generations: Link to "www.motorbase.com" Link to "www.hfp.iap.pl" Also, I don't think this is a Stellar. Its gotta be a Chevrolet/Pontiac or Mopar product. I can assure you it isn't a Ford, Tempos, Escorts, Contours, Taurus' and their Mercury counter-parts were easy to tell apart from the competition. -- Last edit: 2006-07-18 03:06:47 |

It doesn't look like an American car to me. It's got to be an import car that was sold in the US. I want to say it's a Hyundai Excel or Honda Accord. |

Stellar was much bigger and more boxy than Excel. I still think this is an Excel. |

If this is an Excel, the ratio of the picture is not OK... ![]() |

The ratio or the type? ![]() |

I still am convinced it is a Chevy or Dodge. |

Could be an Excel. The 4 door Excel was not as common as the 3 and 5 door Excel, so perhaps the 4- door's shape is not as fresh in our minds as a Corsica or Tempo. Not a Corsica because the car in this picture's rear window doesn't bubble out past the C-pillar like the picture Explorer provided. |

i know the comment was over a decade ago but the Tempo gained the V6 option 4 years after the Stellar was phased out ... ![]() but yep, most of Stellar's competitors did offered one -- Last edit: 2017-12-03 22:45:44 |
