 i'll never be able to tell the differences between the k-cars. if there are any of note, i must have some sort of mental defect that blocks them out of my mind. the subaru is GL trim to get the "fancy" alloys (in the U.S. at least), and probably less common than the "k".

The 81-84 Aries has the horizontal slotted grill with body-colored grill surround and taillights that are divided vertically, the 81-84 Reliant has the mesh grill with chrome grill surround (looks like the MB W123 grill) and taillights have horizontal ribs. For both in 1984 the pentastar emblem was set in the middle of the grill. Starting in 1985, both got a egg-crate grill, but the Aries has the Dodge crosshair design on top of it, the Reliant's is plain. Taillights followed the same theme as before.

 an_unusual_eye says it's a GL due to the fancier wheels.
