Is the red "familiare" a Fiat 131?

I'll say it's a rare Fiat 128 Familiare 3-door. Like this:

Yes. 131 Familiare was always 5-door, wasn't it? Personally, I'd say the Appia is the nicest car. But the Consul Classic (especially in 2-door version) is the most surprising to see here in Italy.

Oddly enough, when I had a holiday in Italy in 1966 I was surprised at how popular the smaller British Fords - Anglias, Consul Classics and Cortinas - were. IIRC there was even a hatchback version of the Anglia, produced in Italy.

There was a Michelotti designed Anglia Torino sedan.

About the Fords in Italy, strangely, for a long while, the british ones were more popular that the German ones (this between 1960 and 1966): Anglia 105E, Consul-Cortina MkI, Consul Classic 315 were as popular or more than contemporary Taunus models.
Everything changed after '66: The MkII Cortina by us was not a success, and the IInd generation of the German Tainis 12m (and 15m), the P6, was not brilliant, but sold much better than Cortinas. The E.E.C. is a reason, but it existed yet in earlier years...
In the fall of 1970 British Fords were deleted by the Italian market. So, we didn't buy any MkIII Cortina...
