Doesn't look like any combine I've ever seen. The cab shouldn't be up on that pedestal. I'd say it's some sort of Modified/Made-For-Movie creation based on the frame of another combine, but don't quote me on that just yet. I'll have to ask the expert (aka Dad). -- Last edit: 2009-04-09 03:00:31 |

No, not an Allis-Chalmers. The cab is oddly perched on a pedistal. The louvers in the pedistal suggest it is the engine house. This is, in my opinion, a highly modified combine like vehicle with probably some combine parts. The 'batts' on the grain table normally are not toothed. This was probably done to make the machine appear to be more sinister. The cab appears to be stacked on top of the standard cab with its windows covered by louvers. Maybe to make it look more imposing? This is not a stardard thing done to combines. Combines are already nose heavy and very prone to rolling over. Adding a cab to the top would make it more so. Did it really chaff the Caddy? /vehicle_221685-Cadillac-Fleetwood-75-69733S-1970.html and not a Dummy?  I'm not really convinced, that it can shredder massive metal.This reminds me to a pic, I've seen many years ago in a newspaper. There a KUKA-bulky waste-press (on a Mercedes NG(GK) has shown, what it's able for - and has crushed a Renault 20. Undertakers on the countryside aren't really happy in the summertime, when again a biker has overlooked a combine harvester. It's a horrible time exposure to fill the zinc-coffin.  |

It's a Claeys-Clayson. Same shape as M133, M135, M140. I don't call it a New Holland because U.S.A.-market New Hollands showed a round radiator screen. -- Last edit: 2012-10-28 14:48:37 |

Here's a cabless version of "Clayson-New Holland". http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Clayson_1520_c.jpg The wikipedia pic is cabless. The back of the separator (back of the combine) is similarly shaped. Me thinks the stacked cab may have had an operator inside the lower cab, obscured by the louvers. The actor may be in the visible upper cab. Again this machine would be a handful to operate. A combine will not, can not ingest an automobile. The header would do a lot of sheet metal damage, but wouldn't get drawn in much farther. The header reel and cross auger would be damaged beyond functionality. The "A" logo on the side is a propman's art work. It means nothing in the farm equipment industry. |

If this was filmed in U.S.A. or Canada, perhaps it should be called a New Holland, as that's what they were marketed here as. |

Actually I think its a Versatile combine and what's throwing everybody off is the gaffers for the movie put a fake cab on top of the real cab... too tall and in my opinion, very unstable. And I have harvested a lot of acers in my lifetime!!!! |
