'34 - either a Model 840A (Eight) or a Model 1240A (Twelve). |

Models were Eight (836A), DeLuxe Eight (840A), Salon Twelve (1240A) and Custom 12 (1248A) -- Last edit: 2024-07-23 01:28:08 |

Nice copypasta as always. I'm not sure if you tried to one-up me, but you failed. This car seems to be a Club Sedan (4-window) meaning that 1248A can be taken out of the loop right away. The 836A was an economy model, similar in concept to the later Packard One-Twenty. This model was considerably smaller and not comparable to the senior Pierce as pictured here. The details from this one are hazy and I don't have enough knowledge to separate Eight and Twelve on sight. These two shared wheelbase which makes it even more difficult. |

@Lateef - FYI I did not cut and paste. I got the information from a reference source (a book). All you said was Eight or Twelve. According to said source it would be a DeLuxe Eight or a Salon Twelve. Are we not striving for accuracy?? |

Accuracy is one thing, what you're listing is just incorrect information. Always check your sources and compare it to primary sources, i.e. sales literature. If you check the 1934 brochure you will find there's no reference to a "DeLuxe" Eight or a "Salon" or "Custom" Twelve. They are simply listed the way I said. Because of the stupid filter it's difficult to identify the colour, but overall the scheme and matches this Twelve, located in the SoCal area. Probably the best bet for now. |
