A few special dealers - normally large Opel dealerships - sold an assortment of North-American GM cars in Germany back then. Munich is even more special, because of Karl Geiger (nowadays GeigerCars), one of the largest and most popular US car dealers in the country. If you were looking for anything American on wheels, Geiger was (and is) your location. Not knowing any details, I strongly assume there is a connection and many of these 'exotic' cars seen in Der Alte, Derrick & all the Bavaria productions came directly or indirectly from there. |
