In the US,it was sold as a Mercury.Everywhere else,it's a Ford.This would be a 1971-72 model.And you seldom see them anymore!!! |

Actually,you are correct.It was sold -by- Mercury as the Capri,but they always got titled & registered as a "Mercury Capri".The DMV's (never known for their actual intelligence ) did the same stunt 15 yrs later when they sold the Merkur/Scorpio(Ford Sierra)here?(almost always titled/tagged as a "Mercury Merkur" or a "Mercury Merkur Scorpio"??)I've even known of 1960's Opel Kadetts(then sold by Buick dealers)being titled as a "Buick Opel Kadett" (Though I seem to recall the same in reverse in Europe,example:"Ford Mercury Cougar") |
