24 years later...there's no way it's the same one.

I believe they made another one for it.

It's supposed to be the "JP 04" that fall off from the tree, which is badly damage.

after 24 years, it should have more rusts, moss or vines growing around it... it just looks like its been there over a year.

I agree. That cannot be the same one from the 1993 film.

No guys, they did not save a wrecked prop explorer to be used 25 years later for a background prop in one scene in another movie. Appreciate their throwback and enjoy the show. Be happy it wasnt jurassic park III

It's missing the wrong tire. It should be missing the rear left tire, instead, it's missing the rear right one. Oops.

If anyone is curious , the original smashed tree explorer from the original movie is on the back lot tour.

Yes , this pile of what looks like spare parts from a random explorer is actually the original tree drop explorer. After production it was chopped in half and a faux roof was added and it was plopped on the back lot tour.

A key giveaway to its history is the very rare and expensive to make dashboard and seats are still in it

kooshmeister wrote Tree is in the wrong position, as well.

It also fell down a wall, which is not present here.

Matchbox will be giving us the crushed version:

The Matchbox version appears to be a retooling of their old Honda Passport/Vauxhall-Opel Frontera/Isuzu Rodeo casting.

I disagree. Looks pretty much like an Explorer to me.

isn’t suppose to be a 1992 model from the 1993 film?
