You can just see the glove compartment lock in the 2nd thumbnail, a 1949 feature.

Too far away to see if Commodore or Super per taillamps or hood ornament but again, the 2nd thumbnail shows the woodtone door panels which the Commodore had.

This car looks nearly identical to the one in "Driving Miss Daisy".

I know the last posting on this car has been over a decade ago but I am now the proud owner, purchased direct from the Coppola family in Napa valley, CA. For the purposes of the movie they installed a 350 Chev/THM 350 trans & also installed a Vintage Air A/C system tucked up under the dash. The car is in generally good condition, dent-free but with a few rough edges & some corrosion in the rockers. It has an amateur-quality wiring job that needs total sorting out. I'd categorize it exactly as depicted in the movie, a solid driver-quality car. My intentions are to smooth out the rough edges, keep corrosion at bay & enjoy it as much as possible. The A/C already goes a LONG way towards making the car usable in Florida!

Thanks and I've set you as owner of the vehicle. The post must have been overlooked.

...concerning Coppola it's interesting that they worked hard to get him fired from the Godfather by sabotaging the rushes. The producer then fired everybody on the crew and kept Francis.

Nice Hudson! Was it a six or an eight originally?

@Lateef thank you & sorry for missing your question from over a year ago. The car was originally a 262 six, 3-sp manual trans on column with semi-automatic overdrive...the semi-automatic part was activated/deactivated by a pull cable up under the dash. The cable is still present as is the column shift but has been modded by me to operate as a normal column-shift automatic. I picked up a 9" Ford rear end which will be narrowed & put in next along with more appropriate gearing. The stock gears are 4.56s or something like that so cruising speed is only about 45-50 or so before the engine is screaming. I dolled her up just a bit this weekend to go see my 94yo grandmother at her senior center. You shoulda seen the mouths drop as it was pulling thru the parking lot. Always a joy to see the reaction from those who were actually alive when these cars were built & for anyone else, they don't really know how to act. .@chicomarx is there a way to post more current photos? The whitewalls were really popping this weekend when I took her out.
